TASK 70-00-06-800-007 |
1 . | General. |
This chapter defines the quality of gases utilized for standard practices and other process document applications. The three required qualities of gas are the following: |
A. | Commercial quality gases. |
B. | Pure gases. |
C. | Very pure gases. |
2 . | Commercial Quality Gases. |
Subtask 70-00-06-800-071 |
D. | Under the term "Commercial quality gases" are grouped the gases that meet the following specifications: |
(1) | Gas content, between 99.0 percent and 99.8 percent. |
(2) | Oxygen content, less than or equal to 20 ppm. |
(3) | Water content, less than or equal to 20 ppm. |
E. | These gases are designated only by their name, e.g. Argon. |
3 . | Pure Gases. |
Subtask 70-00-06-800-072 |
F. | Under the term "Pure gases" are grouped the gases that meet the following specifications: |
(1) | Gas content, between 99.990 percent and 99.998 percent. |
(2) | Oxygen content, less than or equal to 10 ppm. |
(3) | Water content, less than or equal to 10 ppm. |
G. | These gases are designated by their name preceded by the term "pure" e.g. Pure Argon. |
4 . | Very Pure Gases. |
Subtask 70-00-06-800-073 |
H. | Under the term "very pure gases" are grouped the gases that meet the following specifications: |
(1) | Gas content, between 99.995 percent and 99.998 percent. |
(2) | Oxygen content, less than or equal to 5 ppm. |
(3) | Water content, less than or equal to 5 ppm. |
I. | These gases are designated by their name preceded by the term "very pure", e.g. Very Pure Argon. |
