1.PLANNING INFORMATION
A.Effectivity

This Service Bulletin is applicable to all GEnx-1B engines.
The stage 2 blades P/N 2305M35G05 are affected by this Service Bulletin.
B.Description
This Service Bulletin releases two new HPT stage 2 blades P/N 2305M35G06 and P/N 2305M35G07 to the GEnx-1B engine illustrated parts catalog (EIPC), which were released to the GEnx-1B prior to entry into service (EIS).
C.Compliance
Category 7
GE recommends that you do this Service Bulletin at customer's convenience.
NOTE:
This Service Bulletin can be accomplished in shop.
D.Concurrent Requirements
None.
E.Reason
(1)Objective:
To introduce new parts.
(2)Condition:
The GEnx-1B EIPC needs to be updated to incorporate the new stage 2 blade part numbers.
(3)Cause:
The old HPT stage 2 blades do not have a thermal barrier coating which reduces durability for growth applications.
(4)Improvement:
Information only to update the GEnx-1B EIPC to support EIS.
(5)Substantiation:
Substantiation is by Comparative Analysis.

This Service Bulletin has been reviewed by the FAA and the repair(s) and modification(s) herein comply with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and are FAA APPROVED for installation in the model(s) listed in this Service Bulletin.
