|
These serial numbers are the best available data. |
The machine bolts P/N AS3238-18, P/N MS9556-06, and P/N MS9556-08 are affected by this Service Bulletin. |
B. | Description |
This Service Bulletin introduces a new accessory gearbox (AGB) machine bolt P/N MS9556-05, and propulsor module assembly machine bolt P/N MS9556-06. Also provides a new requirement to lubricate the lube and scavenge pump machine bolt P/N AS3237-12. |
C. | Compliance |
Category 7 |
GE recommends that you do this Service Bulletin at customer's convenience. |
NOTE: |
|
D. | Concurrent Requirements |
None. |
E. | Reason |
(1) | Objective: |
To introduce new parts, improve reliability, and improve maintainability. |
(2) | Condition: |
The machine bolts, used to install the main fuel line to the fuel pump, cause damage to the insert. |
The machine bolts around the AGB at worse case stack-up condition do not comply with the minimum clearance with the AGB. |
Installation of the AGB machine bolts is difficult. |
(3) | Cause: |
The unthreaded shank interferes with the insert threads. Shorter machine bolts will eliminate this issue. |
The machine bolts affect the minimum clearance with the AGB. |
Lack of lubrication on the AGB machine bolts. |
(4) | Improvement: |
The new machine bolts eliminate a possible thread insert interference and the lubricant improves machine bolt assembly and disassembly. |
(5) | Substantiation: |
Substantiation is by analysis. |
F. | Approval |
This Service Bulletin has been reviewed by the FAA and the repair(s) and modification(s) herein comply with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and are FAA APPROVED for installation in the model(s) listed in this Service Bulletin. |
G. | Manpower |
No additional man-hours are required to comply with this Service Bulletin. |
