The mentioned bracketry has been identified during assembly as an opportunity to improve current design and assembly time. |

The proposed brackets reduce weight and optimize assembly time, having no impact in design requirements. |

3. | ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS |
A. | Disassembly |
(1) | Disassembly instructions for the propulsor assembly have not changed. Refer to the GEnx-1B EM, 72-00-02, DISASSEMBLY 003. |
B. | Assembly |
(1) | Install the redesigned brackets (1 and 2, Figure 1, Sheet 2, 7, Sheet 3, and 9, Sheet 4) as follows: |
(a) | Put the bracket (1, Sheet 2) in position on the compressor forward case at the 12:30 o'clock position between VSV stages 1 and 2. |
(b) | Attach the bracket (1) with bolts (3). |
(c) | Torque the bolts (3) to 106-124 lb in. (12.0-14.0 Nm). |
(d) | Put bracket (2) in position on the bracket (1) and the actuator support (05-050, 72-32-00). |
(e) | Attach the bracket (2) to the bracket (1) with bolts (4). |
(f) | Attach the bracket (2) to the actuator support (05-050, 72-32-00) with bolts (5) and self locking nuts (nuts) (6). |
(g) | Torque the bolts (4) and the bolts (5) to 106-124 lb in. (12.0-14.0 Nm). |
(h) | Attach the bracket (7, Sheet 3) to the bracket (1, Sheet 2) with bolts (8, Sheet 3). |
(i) | Torque the bolts (8) to 106-124 lb in. (12.0-14.0 Nm). |
(j) | Put bracket (9, Sheet 4) on the bracket (2, Sheet 2). |
(k) | Attach the bracket (9, Sheet 4) with bolts (10). |
(l) | Torque the bolts (10) to 106-124 lb in. (12.0-14.0 Nm). |
(m) | Put the forward drain assembly hose tube (hose tube) (11) in position on the bracket (9). |
(n) | Attach the hose tube (11) to the bracket (9) with a cushion loop clamp (12) and a bolt (13). |
(o) | Torque the bolt (13) to 32-38 lb in. (3.6-4.3 Nm). Make sure that the cushion loop clamp (12) does not get twisted when the bolt is torqued. |
(p) | Attach W30 harness (14, Sheet 5) and W31 harness (15) to the bracket (9, Sheet 4). |
(q) | Attach tube (16, Sheet 5) to bracket (9, Sheet 4) with a split bushing (17, Sheet 5), a retaining strap (18), and two bolts (19). Torque the bolts (19) to 106-124 lb in. (12.0-14.0 Nm). |
(2) | Install the redesigned bracket (20, Sheet 6) as follows: |
(a) | Put the bracket (20) on the VSV actuator aft bearing support (01-180, 72-30-00). |
(b) | Attach the bracket (20) with bolts (21). |
(c) | Torque the bolts (21) to 106-124 lb in. (12.0-14.0 Nm). |
(d) | Put the support bracket (22) on the aft side of the bracket (20). |
(e) | Attach the bracket (22) with bolts (23). |
(f) | Torque the bolts (23) to 106-124 lb in. (12.0-14.0 Nm). |
(g) | Attach the strut drain hose tube (hose tube) (24) to bracket (20) with cushion loop clamp (25) and bolt (26). |
(h) | Torque the bolt (26) to 32-38 lb in. (3.6-4.3 Nm). |
(i) | Attach the fuel hose high pressure turbine (HPT) VSV manifold (manifold) (27, Sheet 7) to the bracket (20, Sheet 6) with bolts (28, Sheet 7). |
(j) | Torque the bolts (28) to 106-124 lb in. (12.0-14.0 Nm). |
(k) | Attach the ps3 air tube (tube) (29) to the bracket (20, Sheet 6) with a cushion loop clamp (30, Sheet 7) and a bolt (31). Install the cushion loop clamp (30) with the loop up. |
(l) | Torque the bolts (31) to 32-38 lb in. (3.6-4.3 Nm). |
(m) | Put the W05 harness (32) in the clips of the bracket (20, Sheet 6) with two electrical clip inserts (insert clips) (33, Sheet 7) at two locations. |
