|
This Service Bulletin is applicable to all GEnx-1B engines. |
This Service Bulletin has been introduced in production to these GEnx-1B engines: |
• |
|
These serial numbers are the best available data. |
The machine bolt P/N AS3237-10 and machine bolt P/N AS3237-08 are affected by this Service Bulletin. |
B. | Description |
This Service Bulletin introduces a new harness support bracket P/N 2509M91G01 and changes two machine bolt sizes from P/N AS3237-08ito P/N AS3237-10 on the lower bifurcation module. |
C. | Compliance |
Category 7 |
GE recommends that you do this Service Bulletin at customer's convenience or option. |
NOTE: |
|
D. | Concurrent Requirements |
None. |
E. | Reason |
(1) | Objective: |
To introduce a new part and improve maintainability. |
(2) | Condition: |
The installation methods and type of components involved make it difficult to maintain the harness route as design intended, having the potential of the flexible harness being too close to the lower bifurcation panel edge. |
(3) | Cause: |
Close clearance exists between the W09 harness and the lower bifurcation right shield panel at the top of the lower bifurcation assembly. |
(4) | Improvement: |
The proposed harness support bracket will maintain the clearance between involved components without affecting the structural integrity of the lower bifurcation assembly. |
(5) | Substantiation: |
Substantiation is by analysis. |
F. | Approval |
This Service Bulletin has been reviewed by the FAA and the repair(s) and modification(s) herein comply with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and are FAA APPROVED for installation in the model(s) listed in this Service Bulletin. |
G. | Manpower |
After you get access to the lower bifurcation assembly, you will need approximately 0.5 man-hour to do the replacement portion of this Service Bulletin. |
H. | Weight and Balance |
Weight and balance are not changed. |
