This Service Bulletin releases new hose clamps P/N 1519M13P04 and P/N 1519M13P06, top pylon drain boot P/N ER6403P01, and bottom pylon drain boot P/N ER6404P01. |

(1) | Objective: |
To introduce new parts and improve reliability. |
(2) | Condition: |
The current connection points of the fuel, hydraulic, and drain lines present gaps that reduce the effectiveness to contain leaks and sprays. |
(3) | Cause: |
The current assembly does not have hose clamps around the fluid lines to support leakage prevention. |
(4) | Improvement: |
Improvement consists of the elimination of the gaps between the top and bottom pylon drain boots and the fluid lines by adding hose clamps at the lines and new designed top and bottom pylon drain boots. |
(5) | Substantiation: |
Substantiation is by comparative analysis. |

3. | ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS |
A. | Removal of the Old Hose Clamp and Top and Bottom Pylon Drain Boots. |
(1) | Remove the old hose clamp (30-020, 71-00-00), top pylon drain boot (30-040), and bottom pylon drain boot (30-050) as follows: |
(a) | Remove the old hose clamp (30-020). Discard the old hose clamp. |
(b) | Loosen and remove the two double hexagonal head machine bolts (bolts) (30-010) that attach the top and bottom pylon drain boots. |
(c) | Remove the hydraulic pressure tube (tube) (05-030) and hydraulic case tube (tube) (05-110) from the bottom pylon drain boot (30-050). |
(d) | Put the protective covers at each end of the tubes hydraulic. |
(e) | Remove the hydraulic supply tube (tube) (05-070) from the bottom pylon drain boot (30-050). |
(f) | Put a protective cover at the end of the tube (05-070). |
(g) | Remove the hose clamp (30-030) to remove the main fuel tube hose (tube) (01-010, 73-11-40) from the bottom pylon drain boot. |
(h) | Remove the strut drain hose tube (25-010A, 73-11-43) from the bottom pylon drain boot. |
(i) | Remove the old top pylon drain boot (30-040, 71-00-00) and bottom pylon drain boot (30-050). Discard the two halves. |
B. | Installation of the New Hose Clamps and Top and Bottom Pylon Drain Boots. |
(1) | Install the new hose clamps (3, Figure 1) and (4, Figure 1) and the new pylon drain boots (1, Figure 1) and (2, Figure 1) as follows: |
(a) | Put the new bottom pylon drain boot (2, Figure 1) above the compressor section. |
(b) | Remove the protective cover from the end of the tubes (05-030, 71-00-00), (05-070), and (05-110). |
(c) | Put the upper ends of the three tubes into the bottom pylon drain boot as follows: |
1 | Put the tube (05-030) in the forward recess of the bottom pylon drain boot. |
2 | Put the tube (05-070) in the next forward recess of the bottom pylon drain boot. |
3 | Put the tube (05-110) in the center recess of the bottom pylon drain boot. |
(d) | Put the main fuel tube hose (01-010, 73-11-40) into the bottom pylon drain boot. |
(e) | Put the strut drain hose tube (25-010A, 73-11-43) into the bottom pylon drain boot. |
(f) | Put the new top pylon drain boot (1, Figure 1) on the bottom pylon drain boot (2, Figure 1) and three tubes. |
(g) | Install the two bolts (30-010, 71-00-00) and torque them to 35 lb in. (4.0 N.m). |
(h) | Install the new hose clamps ( 3, Figure 1), (4, Figure 1) and (30-030) to firmly attach the bottom and top pylon drain boots. Torque them to 7 lb in. (0.8 N.m). |
