D. | Concurrent Requirements |
None. |
E. | Reason |
(1) | Objective: |
To introduce a new part and remove a part from service. |
(2) | Condition: |
Interference between the unthreaded portion of the screw shank and the nut plate thread has been observed during the assembly of the OGV fairing. |
(3) | Cause: |
The current screw P/N 1651M94P02 thread is too short which creates a risk of the shank engagement into the thread of the nut plate. |
(4) | Improvement: |
This change corrects an assembly interference issue and prevents the mating nut plate threads from bottoming out on the screw shank during assembly. This change eliminates the risk of screw shank engagement into the nut thread. |
(5) | Substantiation: |
Substantiation is by analysis and comparative analysis. |
F. | Approval |
The data contained in this Service Bulletin has been reviewed by the appropriate governmental authority and the repair(s) and modification(s) herein comply with the applicable Aviation Regulations and are APPROVED for installation in the model(s) listed in this Service Bulletin. |
