D. | Concurrent Requirements |
None. |
E. | Reason |
(1) | Objective: |
To introduce new parts and improve reliability. |
(2) | Condition: |
The B-sump oil tube hose and the C-sump oil scavenge tube have been found worn at the wear sleeves due to contact with the heatshield aft skirt bracket retainers. |
(3) | Cause: |
The wearing is caused due to relative motion of the heatshield aft skirts causing direct contact with the B-sump oil tube hose and the C-sump oil scavenge tube at the wear sleeves and sometimes out the wearsleeve. |
(4) | Improvement: |
The new support bracket is introduced to prevent heatshield aft skirts displacement and wearing condition on the B-sump oil tube hose and the C-sump oil scavenge tube, thus ensuring the bracket retainers lay on the B-sump oil tube hose and the C-sump oil scavenge tube wearsleeves. |
(5) | Substantiation: |
Substantiation is by analysis and comparative analysis |
F. | Approval |
The data contained in this Service Bulletin has been reviewed by the appropriate governmental authority and the repair(s) and modification(s) herein comply with the applicable Aviation Regulations and are APPROVED for installation in the model(s) listed in this Service Bulletin. |
G. | Manpower |
After you get access to the B-sump oil tube hose and the C-sump oil scavenge tube location at the aft skirt of the heatshield, you will need approximately 0.5 man-hour for each engine or component. |
H. | Weight and Balance |
The complete compliance with this Service Bulletin increases weight by 0.12 lb (0.05 kg). |
