Impact E |

D. | Concurrent Requirements |
None. |
E. | Reason |
(1) | Objective: |
To improve maintainability and move the oil return tube hardware parts to the engine assembly level. |
(2) | Condition: |
Currently, the test assembly has to remove the oil return tube and its attaching hardware in order to install the test enabling hardware. This removal and reinstallation increases the assembly time and could cause damage to the hardware during removal. |
(3) | Cause: |
The current oil return tube, support brackets, machine bolts, cushioned clamps and seals need to be removed when the engine reaches the test site to attach the test enabling hardware. |
(4) | Improvement: |
Moving the oil return tube to the engine assembly level will reduce the assembly time and prevent any risk for hardware damage during removal. |
(5) | Substantiation: |
Substantiation is by comparative analysis. |
F. | Approval |
This Service Bulletin contains no modification information that revises the approved configuration and therefore does not require FAA or regulatory approval. |
