This Service Bulletin is applicable to all GEnx-1B PIP 2 engines. |
The machine bolts (bolts) P/N AS3238-28 installed on the fan case B-flange (B-flange) are affected by this Service Bulletin. |
B. | Description |
This Service Bulletin updates the next higher assembly of the affected bolts in the GEnx-1B Engine Illustrated Parts Catalog (EIPC) for PIP 2 engines. |

E. | Reason |
(1) | Objective: |
To update the GEnx-1B EIPC. |
(2) | Condition: |
There are no bolts available on the fan stator module assemblies P/N 2447M18G01 and P/N 2447M18G02. |
(3) | Cause: |
This is because the fan stator module assemblies P/N 2447M18G01 and P/N 2447M18G02 involved stator grind, which requires the forward and aft fan cases to be mated using B-flange bolts. With all B-flange bolts currently listed under the fan stator module assemblies P/N 2305M15G08 through P/N 2305M15G11 (an assembly after the fan stator module assemblies P/N 2447M18G01 and P/N 2447M18G02 level), there would be no bolts available on the fan stator module assemblies P/N 2447M18G01 and P/N 2447M18G02. |
(4) | Improvement: |
The introduction of B-flange bolts and fasteners to the fan stator module assemblies P/N 2447M18G01 and P/N 2447M18G02 allows the stator grind with the forward and aft fan cases mated. |
