B. | Description |
This Service Bulletin releases a new spacer P/N 2991M40P01, bolt P/N J334P10A, and alternate bolt P/N MS9697-10 to the combustor discharge manifold to improve the clamp. |

(1) | Objective: |
To introduce new parts. |
(2) | Condition: |
Cracks and missing material are found on the combustor discharge manifold. |
(3) | Cause: |
Residual motion between the combustor discharge manifold and surrounding hardware can lead to cracking on the combustor discharge manifold. |
(4) | Improvement: |
Adding the new spacer with longer bolt in order to increase the clamp on the combustor discharge manifold. |
(5) | Substantiation: |
Substantiation is by analysis. |

(1) | Disassemble the combustor diffuser assembly and remove the old bolt (1, Figure 1). Refer to the GEnx-1B EM, 72-41-00, DISASSEMBLY 001, CONFIG 01 or CONFIG 02. |
B. | Assembly |
(1) | Assemble the combustor diffuser assembly with the new bolt (1, Figure 1) and spacer (2). Refer to the GEnx-1B EM, 72-41-00, ASSEMBLY 001, CONFIG 01 or CONFIG 02. |
