This Service Bulletin is applicable to all GEnx-1B engines.
The electrical clip inserts (clip inserts) P/N 1793M46P02, P/N 1793M46P03, P/N 1793M46P04, P/N 1793M46P05, P/N 1793M46P06, and P/N 1793M46P07 are affected by this Service Bulletin.
B.Description
This Service Bulletin eliminates 40 plastic clip inserts from selected harness support spring clip locations.

E.Reason
(1)Objective:
To remove parts from service.
(2)Condition:
Plastic clip inserts were introduced as a response to customer concerns on poor routing experience for legacy sustaining programs.
(3)Cause:
Successful field harness experience across engine programs has demonstrated that harness peek overbraid at the spring clips performs its chafe guard purpose adequately when the spring clips are correctly sized and the latest harness design process has been followed.
(4)Improvement:
Clip inserts removal leads to assembly process simplification through reduced parts count, improves field shop operations, eliminates potential foreign object damage concerns, and resolves special considerations to abate clip inserts damage and their proliferation by error-proofing maintenance activity.
(5)Substantiation:
Substantiation is by analysis and comparative analysis.

This Service Bulletin contains no modification information that revises the approved configuration and therefore does not require FAA or regulatory approval.

3.ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A.Clip Insert Removal
NOTE:
It is not necessary to fully remove the harnesses for the removal of the clip inserts from the locations specified in the steps below. You can remove the harnesses from the spring clips in order to remove the clip inserts at each location. The harness can be attached to the spring clip immediately after the clip insert is removed.
(1)Remove the clip inserts that support the W05 harness. Refer to Figure 1 and do as follows:
(a)Remove the W05 harness (SIN 67004) from the support brackets (SIN 6711H and SIN 6711G).
(b)Remove the W05 harness (SIN 67004) from the scavenge tube (SIN 45100).
(c)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67175) from the support bracket (SIN 6711H).
(d)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67176) from the support bracket (SIN 6711G).
(e)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67174) from the support bracket (SIN 6711G).
(f)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67174) from the scavenge tube (SIN 45100).
(g)Remove the W05 harness (SIN 67004) from the support bracket (SIN 37612).
(h)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67174) from the support bracket (SIN 37612).
(i)Remove the W05 harness (SIN 67004) from the support brackets (SIN 37613 and SIN 34011).

(c)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67178) from the bracket (SIN 67217).
(d)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67177) from the bifurcation manifold (SIN 99006).
(e)Remove the W07 harness (SIN 67006) from the support bracket (SIN 37311).
(f)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67174) from the support bracket (SIN 37311).
(g)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67173) from the support bracket (SIN 37311).
(h)Attach the W07 harness (SIN 67006) to the spring clips.
(4)Remove the clip inserts that support the W08 harness. Refer to Figure 4 and do as follows:
(a)Remove the W08 harness (SIN 67007) from the drain manifold (SIN 99003).
(b)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67174) from the drain manifold (SIN 99003).
(c)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67173) from the drain manifold (SIN 99003).
(d)Remove the W08 harness (SIN 67007) from the drain tube (SIN 48400).
(e)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67174) from the drain tube (SIN 48400).
(f)Remove the W08 harness (SIN 67007) from the core compartment cooling (CCC) air manifold (SIN 63100).
(g)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67174) from the CCC air manifold (SIN 63100).
(h)Attach the W08 harness (SIN 67007) to the spring clips.
(5)Remove the clip inserts that support the W09 harness. Refer to Figure 5 and do as follows:
(a)Remove the W09 harness (SIN 67008) from the bracket (SIN 67217).
(b)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67179) from the bracket (SIN 67217).
(c)Remove the W09 harness (SIN 67008) from the support bracket (SIN 37311).
(d)Remove the clip insert (SIN 6717A) from the support bracket (SIN 37311).
(e)Remove the W09 harness (SIN 67008) from the wiring bracket (SIN 67219).
(f)Remove the clip inserts (SIN 67174) from the wiring bracket (SIN 67219).
(g)Remove the W09 harness (SIN 67008) from the drain tube (SIN 37900).
(h)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67173) from the drain tube (SIN 37900).
(i)Attach the W09 harness (SIN 67008) to the spring clips.
(6)Remove the clip inserts that support the W10 harness. Refer to Figure 6 and do as follows:
(a)Remove the W10 harness (SIN 67009) from the drain manifold (SIN 99003).
(b)Remove the clip insert (SIN 6717A) from the drain manifold (SIN 99003).
(c)Remove the W10 harness (SIN 67009) from the support bracket (SIN 37110).
(d)Remove the clip insert (SIN 6717A) from the support bracket (SIN 37110).
(e)Remove the W10 harness (SIN 67009) from the wiring bracket (SIN 67219).
(f)Remove the clip inserts (SIN 67174) from the wiring bracket (SIN 67219).
(g)Remove the W10 harness (SIN 67009) from the drain tube (SIN 37900).
(h)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67173) from the drain tube (SIN 37900).
(i)Attach the W10 harness (SIN 67009) to the spring clips.
(7)Remove the clip inserts that support the W12 harness. Refer to Figure 7 and do as follows:
(a)Remove the W12 harness (SIN 6700A) from the support bracket (SIN 6711G) and the A-sump scavenge tube (SIN 45100).
(b)Remove the clip inserts (SIN 67176) from the support bracket (SIN 6711G) and the A-sump scavenge tube (SIN 45100).
(c)Remove the W12 harness (SIN 6700A) from the bracket (SIN 67217).
(d)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67178) from the bracket (SIN 67217).
(e)Attach the W12 harness (SIN 6700A) to the spring clips.
(8)Remove the clip inserts that support the W13 harness. Refer to Figure 8 and do as follows:
(a)Remove the W13 harness (SIN 6700B) from the support bracket (SIN 6711G).
(b)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67174) from the support bracket (SIN 6711G).
(c)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67175) from the support bracket (SIN 6711G).
(d)Remove the W13 harness (SIN 6700B) from the A-sump scavenge tube (SIN 45100).
(e)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67174) from the A-sump scavenge tube (SIN 45100).
(f)Remove the W13 harness (SIN 6700B) from the scavenge oil tube and hose (SIN 45202).
(g)Remove the clip insert (SIN 67174) from the scavenge oil tube and hose (SIN 45202).
(h)Attach the W13 harness (SIN 6700B) to the spring clips.
(9)Remove the clip inserts that support the W17 harness. Refer to Figure 9 and do as follows:
