C.Compliance
Category 7
GE recommends that you do this Service Bulletin at customer's convenience or option.
NOTE:
This Service Bulletin can be accomplished in shop.
D.Concurrent Requirements
None.
E.Reason
(1)Objective:
To introduce a new part.
(2)Condition:
The current design has separate wear sleeves, which are installed on a section of the tube that has a butt weld which makes the assembly of the tube, wear sleeves clamp, and bracket difficult.
(3)Cause:
During certification vibration testing of the original tube it was found that it needed additional support. There was insufficient time to get a new tube made to support this vibration testing, so separate snap-on wear sleeves were released.
(4)Improvement:
This proposed design integrates the wear sleeve as a welded on item, and moves the manufacturing process weld away from the clamping location.
(5)Substantiation:
Substantiation is by comparative analysis
.
F.Approval
This Service Bulletin has been reviewed by the FAA and the repair(s) and modification(s) herein comply with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and are FAA APPROVED for installation in the model(s) listed in this Service Bulletin.
