None. |
E. | Reason |
(1) | Objective: |
To introduce new parts. |
The purpose of these changes is to minimize air leakage at the splitter interface. |
(2) | Condition: |
The current design uses feeders with a large clearance gap at the splitter/BAI interface resulting in air leakage. |
(3) | Cause: |
The current BAI feeders have a clearance hole where they interface with the splitter which results in some air leakage. |
The current BAI uses a half-shell wye as is conventional. It is believed that the wye causes a recirculation air bubble at the junction. |
(4) | Improvement: |
The proposed BAI manifold improves the overall flow characteristics of the system. |
(5) | Substantiation: |
Substantiation is by analysis and comparative analysis. |
