1 . | General. |
Cold-working is an operation in which materials are reworked to original contour (as removal of dents). This procedure is used to repair engine parts (mostly sheet metal) which have been damaged or changed from their original contour. No heat is applied to the material. |

A. | Inspect the part to be repaired per applicable manual. |

B. | Using plastic or other soft-faced mallets, pliers and similar hand tools, return the part to its original contour within usable limits specified in applicable manual. |
C. | After cold-working, inspect the reworked area for cracks, observing limits in the applicable engine manual. |
D. | Compare with a similar undamaged part. Refer to applicable engine manual for repair limits for the part being cold-worked. |
