| 1 . | General. |
| The following procedure must be used to repair shank nuts that are damaged beyond usable limits specified in the engine manual. |

| A. | Flaring tool. |

| A. | Use only approved replacement parts specified in applicable manual. |
| 4 . | Procedure. |

| A. | Remove shank nuts from their mounting flanges by drilling into the base of flared shank of the nut. |
| B. | Select proper drill size for the part being replaced(refer to applicable engine manual). |
| C. | Replace shank nuts as shown in Figure 1. |
