| This Service Bulletin is applicable to all GEnx-1B engines. |
| The main fuel filter (MFF) VIN 1326-1043 (P/N 2122M23P02) is affected by this Service Bulletin. |
| B. | Description |
| This Service Bulletin releases the new ratchet lever assembly kit VIN 8920-690 for the affected MFF. |
| This Service Bulletin also provides instructions to replace the ratchet lever and all related hardware from the affected MFF. |

| E. | Reason |
| (1) | Objective: |
| To improve reliability. |
| (2) | Condition: |
| Wear has been detected in the inner diameter of the ratchet lever hole. The ratchet lever is a secondary retention method to hold the fuel filter bowl. |
| (3) | Cause: |
| The ratchet lever hole inner diameter wear against the bolt undercut is due to vibration and incorrect engine maintenance. |
| (4) | Improvement: |
| The vibration effect on the ratchet lever has been eliminated by addressing the fretting issue through increased bearing area, reduced clearances, better lever balancing about the screw axis, and the use of a loading spring to insure positive loading of the lever against the housing. |
| The new ratchet lever design also adds a new feature to disengage the ratchet lever from the fuel filter bowl to simplify current filter replacement procedure and to reduce potential maintenance damage. |

| (3) | Install the new ratchet lever assembly kit. Refer to the attached Woodward Service Bulletin 82933-73-0001 (latest version). |
| (4) | Install the MFF element. Refer to the GEnx-1B Boeing 787 AMM, TASK DMC-B787-A-G73-11-02-00B-720A-A. |
