| This Service Bulletin releases the GEnx-1B/P2 new hardware names and part numbers information to the Engine Illustrated Parts Catalog (EIPC). This Service Bulletin also provides instructions and references of the Service Bulletins used to convert the high pressure turbine (HPT) module from a GEnx-1BXX/G03, GEnx-1BXX/G04 and GEnx-1BXX/P1G01 to GEnx-1BXX/P2G01. |
| Revision 2 of this Service Bulletin allows the stage 2 blade P/N 2305M35G05 to remain as an acceptable part for PIP2 engine configuration design. |
| Revision 2 of this Service Bulletin provides reference to rework an existing pre-PIP2 stage 2 blade P/N 2305M35G06 to the acceptable PIP2 P/N 2305M35G05 configuration. |
| Revision 2 of this Service Bulletin releases a new HPT blade P/N 2383M53P08. |
| Revision 2 of this Service Bulletin removes the HPT stator case (SIN 174B0) from the GEnx-1BG03 upgrade kit P/N 739L356 as it is not required for every engine and will be ordered separately. |

| To introduce the new GEnx-1B/PIP2 engine model and associated new parts to the Engine Illustrated Parts Catalog (EIPC) and provide configuration conversion instructions. |
| Also, to introduce new interchangeability requirements for the stage 1 and stage 2 blades. |
| (2) | Condition: |
| The GEnx-1B/P2 model includes upgrades to improve performance and durability. |
| The new interchangeability requirements are now necessary for production stage 2 blades P/N 2305M35G09/G10/G11 and for the stage 2 blade P/N 2305M35G05. |

| Product improvement. |
| The new interchangeability requirements are due to changes in the HPT rotor stage 2 blade configuration. |

| This Service Bulletin introduces the GEnx-1B/P2 configuration which improves fuel efficiency of the GEnx-1B engine. Depending on engine operating characteristics and configuration, this Service Bulletin can improve specific fuel consumption (SFC) of the GEnx-1B and GEnx-1B/P1 engines. |
| Revision 2 of Service Bulletin (GEnx-1B S/B 72-0159, Revision 2) clarifies the new interchangeability requirements for the affected parts. |

| (a) | Rework the old HPT stage 2 nozzles (SIN 174A0) and (SIN 174A1) from either P/N 2300M61G05 to P/N 2300M61G07 or P/N 2300M61G06 to P/N 2300M61G08. Refer to RD 174-194. |
